Description

Step into the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and art. Explore the mysteries of sleep, dreams, and Jungian psychology in an innovative and experiential installation for all ages. Come make Jungian art with us!

Unlocking the mysteries of sleep and dreams holds the key to enhancing human well-being and fostering creativity, paving the way for transformative breakthroughs in fields ranging from mental health to innovation. It has been a full century since Jung first created his magnificently illustrated dream journal, The Red Book. Modern sleep science indicates those brain wave patterns found in sleep and dream states are also found in daydreaming and creativity–both important parts of art-making.

Dreamscapes Unveiled will explore creativity and dreaming through multiple perspectives of art, psychology, and science. Dreamscapes Unveiled includes an interactive gallery show highlighting four major aspects of Jung’s Psychology (Self-Individuation, Archetypes, Dreams and Active Imagination, and Alchemy), including an entry concept piece created collaboratively by artists Michelle Gray, Suzanne Botello, and Lisa Lee Pearce. The Gallery Open Houses occur on May 18, 24, 25 and June 7. There is also an Interactive Slide Show and Art Installation that will allow you to create a Jungian Image Art Token or Card to take home. Come and enjoy our Gallery Show, music, and refreshments!

These artists will also host 3 workshops on Intuitive Art Making on May 21-23:

· I am a Unique Individual: The Lotus Bag as Metaphor for SELF (Suzanne Botello, PhD)

· Psyche Speaks: A Journey Circles™ Creative Collage Workshop in the Dreamscapes Unveiled Gallery (Michelle Gray, PhD)

· Neurographic Art Workshop (Lisa Lee Pearce)

Additionally, there will be three community experiences:

· “Synchronicity, Active Imagination, and Carl Jung’s Red Book” (slide show and Active Imagination experience with Michelle Gray, PhD) May 20 Coconino Center for the Arts

· “Why We Sleep” (book review/ discussion about the science of sleep and dreams with Sara Gibson, MD and Michelle Gray, PhD) May 29 Downtown Library

· “Dreamscapes” (an On-line Dream-Tending Group with Michelle Gray, PhD) May 19
