Description
Flagstaff’s first 24 hour theatre project. From concept to writing to rehearsal to performance—all in 24 hours!
24 Hour Theatre Festivals, done all around the country, are an evening of theatre created in just one day: from concept to production. Create art on the spur of the moment. (Well, 24 moments, that is.) There is no time to question, stumble or second guess. The fun is that the plays have zero time for rewrites. It’s up to the director and actors to “make it work,” and somehow they always do!
The subject? How to improve the arts in Flagstaff.
The plan?
- 8 pm: Start in a room coming with an idea.
- Overnight: Write a show
- Morning/Afternoon: Rehearse the show
- 7 pm: Perform the new show.
It’s over by 8 pm. All in 24 hours.
It’s an innovative, immersive way to grow the arts in Flagstaff.
