Description

Flagstaff seen through historical photography.

A large antique camera, located in the Southside neighborhood of Flagstaff, will be exposed every hour to light in order to create a 7×17 tintype. Whoever chooses to be in front of the camera at the hour mark will be a part of that tintype, creating a time-stamped chronicle of the festival goers.

A very large antique camera from the 1870’s will be pointed at a space big enough to hold 20-50 people and be occupied by anybody who wants to participate for that hour’s tintype photo. Necessary instructions, as well as sample shots, will be provided to guide participants. Somewhat of a social experiment for strangers coming together all in one frame!

All are welcome, whether they have been planning on attending for weeks or unknowingly roll up minutes before. The rest of the time, Eric will be available to answer questions about the process, show the day’s tintype plates, and let people look into the back of the camera and pose with their friends and family.
