Creative Flagstaff is pleased to announce the continuation of ARTx: Art + Ideas in 2025. This year builds on the momentum of the inaugural event this past spring, which featured ten days of events, presentations, and art-centered experiences.
In 2025, the structure of ARTx will shift from a consolidated event display to focused opportunities distributed throughout the year so that the community can engage with art more frequently. Each place-based project will offer a satellite or pop-up demonstration in a secondary location, which will connect the main project with a different part of the community, increasing accessibility. With connectivity as the focus, the objective is to expand the reach of art and creative work throughout the broader community.
ARTx is soliciting individual artists, collaborations and/or organizations interested in exploring their creative ideas during the next grant cycle. The call-for-submissions invites site-specific applications, partnering creatives with predetermined venues and events, while still allowing for an open proposal submission system. This encourages intentional opportunities for artists to create place-based projects while enabling the community to experience activations more accessibly. All funded projects must be implemented prior to June 30, 2025, but projects presentations may extend past this date.
All ARTx projects this year must include some aspect which can be displayed in a satellite venue or transported to share with other parts of the community. This should be a representative element of your project that can be exhibited or presented concurrently at another venue. In your proposal, please include your suggestion for a connection or satellite venue, host or opportunity. Grant awards for each section may not exceed $2,500.00.
The call is open now and will close January 31, 2025. Grant awards will be announced in early February.
