Creative Flagstaff is pleased to announce the event dates of the inaugural 2024 ARTx: Art + Ideas Experience Arizona festival of May 17 – 26, 2024. Ten days of events, presentations, and art-centered experiences, will build on the momentum of the pilot event in May of 2023
ARTx is soliciting individuals, collaborations and/or organizations interested in sharing their projects during the festival. The Call for Participation is now open and runs through September 15, 2023. $90,000.00 in project grants are available for 2024 to support artists and other presenters, made possible by the Beautification and Public Arts Commission of the City of Flagstaff, as well as private donors through the ARTx Fund held by the Arizona Community Foundation.
The Call for Participation is for all official festival entries including applicants seeking grant funding as well as those that are independently funded. All participants looking to be officially listed must apply. Eligible applicants include artists of any medium, science and culture organizations, mission driven organizations or others. Participation in ARTx is an opportunity to elevate the vibrant community in Flagstaff, to cross-promote through engagement, activation and programming.
The festival, both immersive and interactive, showcases the convergence of art, science, and culture, from Flagstaff, the Southwest, and the world. In 2024, it is expected that dozens of traditional and non-traditional venues and more than 50 artists and contributors will transform the city for ten days, elevating Flagstaff as a sustainable and accessible community for creative practice, artmaking, placemaking, and exploration.
